I have a nine month old. Nine months. I feel like nine months is the biggest milestone month so far, seeing as you’re pregnant for nine months. Before I know it, I’ll have a one year old and I’ll be crying in the corner eating birthday cake.
This month I discovered that Tyler loves baby porridge but isn’t too much of a fan of toast(how, I have no idea, as I pretty much live off of the stuff). I have days where I love weaning and other days where I just want to throw the baby puree across the room. Sometimes Tyler will try something and love it for a couple of days and then the next week he’ll turn his nose up at it and cry. I don’t think the fact that Tyler is teething is helping. But hey ho, we will get there.
Speaking of teething, TYLER HAS CUT A TOOTH, I repeat, he’s finally cut a tooth! I’ve been waiting for this to happen for months and months because it feels as though he has been teething forever! Well, asides from the mass amounts of dribbling, the only other clue that he’s been teething is his irritability.. there’s been a lot of it. It’s his lower left 1(sorry I used to work at a dental practice lolz) and the one right next to it doesn’t look like it will take too long to push through now either. Is it sad that I’m excited about having to brush his tiny teeth? I already have a toothbrush for him and one of those strange silicone ones too, eek.
Last month I did manage to get my butt into gear and sort out all of Tyler’s 9-12 month wardrobe and he is now officially wearing it all. I always forget what we’ve bought or been gifted when we have to get another size out so it’s like Christmas for me whenever I get to sort through his clothes. I’ll be sure to film a 9-12 month wardrobe favourite’s as people seemed to like the last video I did on Tyler’s 6-9 month bits.
Something that I still haven’t managed to get my arse into gear with is the weighing clinic.. I somehow always manage to find an excuse not to go. In my defence, we’ve had some miserable days weather wise and I’ve had lots of appointments and such which have just clashed. I’ll try my very best to get there this month though, you have my word!
Tyler seems to get faster at crawling every single day. He’s also started cruising, mainly around the coffee table and along the sofa and has just mastered how to go from standing to kneeling to get down from the side of the coffee table without bashing himself on the way down.
As for the baby babble, it’s still non stop! He’s learnt how to say “na-na-na-na” now so he spends most of the day flitting between that, “ma-ma-ma-ma” “ba-ba-ba-ba” and “da-da-da-da!” It’s actually quite cute, especially as he seems to sing his way through them all!
Sleep is a sore subject at the moment. As I type this, Jack is currently trying to settle Tyler by cuddling him in our bed, as that’s the only place he seems to want to settle down for the night. More often than not, Tyler will end up in our bed before 3am. Rod, backs, yeah yeah I know, but it’s those blurry eyed moments at 3am where you know that you need to be awake in 3 or 4 hours that make you just give in because you know he’ll fall straight back to sleep as soon as his head touches the bed. If anyone has any sleep training tips then please let me know!
I feel like October was a busy month for us as a family. We spent time with my parents and with Jack’s parents, eyed up a property we quite like and Tyler and I also spent a day shooting in London for a really exciting, but secret campaign! I can’t wait to show you all what we’ve been up to! I’ll no doubt share it on my twitter and Facebook page so make sure you’re following me to find out what it is!
Well, that’s all for now folks, come back and join us next month when we will have reached double digits.. again, no.. you’re crying.
