When the lovely people over at Indigo Herbs got in contact with me and asked if I’d like to work with them on their “Kick Ass Vegan Smoothie Mix” campaign, I couldn’t say no! Indigo Herbs are a company whose mission is to empower optimum health by inspiring people to take responsibility for their own wellbeing. They do so by making excellent quality herbs and superfoods available and affordable! 

This year, Indigo Herbs are actually sponsoring, which is a campaign that inspires and supports people trying out a Vegan lifestyle for January! Indigo Herbs kindly sent me their 100g Kick Ass Vegan Smoothie Mix* (£6.99) which they co-created with Sam Taylor, who is a plant based, international bronze medal winning, martial artist! This particular superfood mix is high in protein, dietary fibre, vitamins A, E, C and B2 and is also high in calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. This blend is 100% certified organic and is made up of Spirulina powder, Maca powder, banana powder, Chlorella powder, Chia seed protein, pupmkin seed protein, Wheatgrass powder, Moringa powder, barley grass powder and Baobab powder. Yes, it is very green! 
Indigo Herbs asked me to create a recipe using their superfoods mix, so with the help of Jack, we managed to put together these delicious and super easy to make, vegan superfood balls! To make 12 servings you will need:
  • 90 grams of crushed rolled oats
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 serving (15grams) of the Indigo Herbs Kick Ass Vegan Smoothie Mix

That’s right, just three ingredients! Simply crush/blend your rolled oats and mix/mash them together with your banana before adding one serving of the superfood blend! Once all your ingredients have been thoroughly mixed together, grab a small amount of your mixture and roll to form a ball shape between your palms. Repeat this with all of your mixture and voila! There you have it, 12 portions of delicious vegan superfood balls that are packed with great vitamins and protein! You can easily make these superfood balls 100% organic so long as you buy yourself organic bananas and oats too!

These Kick Ass Vegan Superfood Balls look like algee covered golf balls BUT they taste sweet and delicious and make for a perfect breakfast on the go or as a snack a little later on in the day!
