As I’m sure you’re all aware by now, I’m vegan. Recently, I’ve been wanting to make sure that all the products I use are certified vegan and cruelty free. I’ve finally got my staple in shower products that I use on a regular basis that I really rate, so I thought I would share them with you all!
First let’s talk shower gel. This is the my new favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly, the One Ginger Morning bath/shower gel from Treacle Moon smells absolutely incredible! It honestly does make me feel refreshed mentally too which is always a nice feeling on those cold, early mornings! That and it’s also bright green, random but it’s the one colour in their range that stood out to me most. All of the Treacle Moon products are vegetarian friendly and not tested on animals and some(including One Ginger Morning) are vegan friendly too!
Something else that I really love is the descriptions and little stories on the packaging. On One Ginger Morning it reads:
“Wakey wakey duvet princess … with a gentle yawn she stretched and captured her dream … still warm… today seemed full of endless promise“
“Always remember that true beauty begins from the heart … our lovely recipes simply do the best they can for your skin and your smile!“
“We like to create products that you will love to use … scrumptious smells, fabulous textures and a ‘look’ that will sit with pride in your bathroom. It’s a special little team who make Treaclemoon happen… take Charles Henry Nelson our rather random garden gnome whom we consult all elements of creative and design … his lilac and yellow knitted socks are unusual but necessary… and there’s Matilda Fizzbucket our bubbly chemist who has a cat with turquoise whiskers and of course me, Dunc and Sarah“
Some of the other scents available in the range that are vegan friendly are Marshmallow Hearts, Warm Cinnamon Nights and Gentle Powder Love. I would highly recommend Ginger Morning to anyone looking to add something super refreshing to your morning shower routine! Available from Tesco’s for £3.00(500ml)
When it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I think I’ve found my go to! All of Superdrug’s own brand products are cruelty free and the majority of them are vegan too! From what I have read/found out, all of the shampoo’s and conditioner’s in their Extracts range are suitable for vegans. I picked up the shampoo and conditioner in Coconut & Sweet Almond. The packaging states that it is best suited to dry/damaged hair. I recently cut inches and inches off of my hair and it’s been thanking me ever since, but I thought buying hair care that was intended to aid damaged hair would still be wise. Not only does this shampoo and conditioner combo smell amazing, quite like the hairdressers actually, but it leaves my hair feeling silky smooth. My mum keeps telling me my hair looks extra shinny but I think that might just be to do with the pregnancy! Both the shampoo and conditioner are available from Superdrug for £2.29 each(400ml each) but you can currently buy one get one free!
Last but not least, I’m sharing my favourite face wash, it’s Dark Angels from Lush! Now, before I was pregnant(which feels like years and years and years ago omg), my skin was super duper oily but now I seem to have developed so many awful dry patches. I did stop using Dark Angels just in case it was the culprit, but since picking it back up again I’ve found that it’s actually a huge relief to my dry skin too! With charcoal and sugar to gently exfoliate and avocado to moisturise, I honestly think the ingredients make for a perfect balance to make this product suitable for all skin types!
To use, you really only need a small amount of product in the palm of your hand and I just mix it with a little bit of water and make a paste, before rubbing it onto my face and neck. For some reason, I don’t always seem to be able to rinse off all of the charcoal, does anyone else have this problem? I often come out of the shower and Jack will say, “erm, you’ve got a little bit of erm stuff on your face”. Once I get to a mirror I just use some of my 9 to 5 cleansing lotion to wash away the bits that I’ve missed! Maybe I need to get myself a mirror in the shower!
Of course, you all know that Lush do not test any of their products on animals and like a lot of their products, Dark Angels is suitable for vegans too. You can pick up the 100g tub for £7.25.
So there we have it, my current in shower favourites that are all 100% vegan and cruelty free! What are you current in shower favourites? Are you a cruelty free beauty lover? Let me know what your favourite products are!
