As I write this blog post, I am 28 weeks + 3 days pregnant with our little baby boy! I know I say this all the time, but how crazy is that?! We’re moving in less than 2 weeks and I’m so excited to finally be able to get buba’s room started! It’s super frustrating seeing so many other people almost finishing their little one’s rooms by now, so I’m more than ready!
Today, I thought I’d share a little bit of nursery decor inspiration with you all. I’ve been scouring pinterest for months now trying to decide what sort of colour palette and theme would suit best for our little boy, so if you’re on the hunt for some ideas, keep reading! (You can also follow me on Pinterest too, muhahaha)
If you saw this post, you’ll know that this year I’ve fallen in love with mustard home decor, so when it came to scouting out ideas for the nursery, mustard’s against more neutral shades came in as high contenders!
I really do think that bold coloured pieces can make all the difference to a somewhat plain room! I don’t think I’d want to paint the walls yellow, but a grey backdrop for some popping pieces really does make a room look super duper cute!
For 20 whole weeks, we didn’t know then gender of our little baby, so I had discovered that a completely neutral or monochrome palette was also something that quite tickled my fancy for a girl or a boy! With the rise of people encouraging families to be gender neutral/fluid with their children there’s certainly not a lack of ideas on the good ol’ Pinterest!
There’s just something so refreshing about a neutral colour palette isn’t there? I think this would certainly be the easiest to achieve as you wouldn’t have to worry about matching up the different shades of blue or green or whatever other colour you wanted to add! None the less, I think these nursery ideas are all as beautiful as each other, pops of colour or not!
Last but not least and probably my favourite inspiration yet, is anything with foxes on. If you’ve been reading round these parts for a while, you’ll know that this mumma bear does have a bit of a thing for foxes, so when the idea came around that we could theme our baby’s nursery around foxes and other cute, woodland animals, I got a little bit excited to say the least!
So there we have it! My top picks for nursery inspiration! Which style is your favourite? Are you in the process of preparing your baby’s nursery? Let me know!
