Omg you guys, there are only 9 days left until Christmas day, how crazy is that?! For today’s post, I wanted to share a little festive breakfast bowl recipe with you all that’s a, super tasty and b, totally vegan!
Porridge is a super easy way to get a load of energy first thing in the morning and it’s super quick and easy to prepare! For this speedy breakfast bowl, you will need:
140ml Milk alternative of your choice
100ml Cold water
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
Indigo Herbs Organic Coconut Palm Sugar* to sprinkle (optional)
Vegan Gingerbread to decorate
Cinnamon sticks to decorate
Porridge is super simple to make, but just in case you’ve not made it before, you simply need to add your water, milk, oats, acai powder and ground cinnamon into a pan over low heat and stir until the oats have soaked up some of the liquid and you have a sort of sticky/thick mixture, sounds delightful I know!
Did you know that the acai berry is packed with vitamin a which is great for your immune system, heart, lungs and kidneys. And how about cinnamon? Not only does it taste beautiful and just warms you right up at this time of year, but it can help to lower your blood sugar levels and reduce heart disease risk factors!
Essentially, you can add anything to your oats, but to keep it festive I thought I’d add some gingerbread to mine(plus, it made for a super amazing treat for a cold, miserable morning!). Of course, you could indeed make your own gingerbread but I picked this absolutely delicious, crumbly and soft gingerbread from poundworld! It came with 8 pieces and my god were they gorgeous!
