Recently, I talked about how Barcelona was my favourite city in the world, but Paris comes in a very close second. We’re so lucky to live in a day and age where we can snap and share photos in an instant and cherish them forever. A couple of days ago I was reminiscing and looking through some photos of my holiday to Paris five or so years ago and I was surprised at how many wonderful memories I had made there in just three days.
The Eiffel Tower
Of course, Paris’ landmark attraction. You can’t visit Paris and not go up the Eiffel Tower, or at the very least take a look at it from ground level! Taking the quirky little elevator up the Eiffel Tower will always be such a cherished memory of mine for two reasons. The first is because I was lucky enough to witness a couple get engaged! It might sound strange that someone else’s engagement is a cherished memory of mine, but it was honestly the most romantic thing I’ve ever witnessed!
The second reason is the stunning view of Paris you can see once you reach the top, it really is breathtaking. I remember wondering off from my friends that I was with and just staring out in amazement for quite a while.
“A dream is a wish your heart makes.” I spent my childhood watching all of the Disney movies(on repeat!) and dreaming of the day that I’d be able to walk down Main Street and up to Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Although when we visited Paris it was dreary weather, it couldn’t have been more magical. Sadly, I don’t have too many photos from Disneyland itself as I was so engrossed in enjoying the day and taking in all the magic, but of course I have the wonderful memories! Disneyland really is the happiest place on earth and I can’t wait for the day that I am able to return with Tyler.
Watching the Disneyland parade is something I will forever be in awe of. The work that goes into the parade every single day is simply outstanding. All of the characters/staff involved really put their all into making it a special moment for everyone, us adults included!
I decided to ask some others if they had any memorable holiday moments from Paris and here’s what they had to say:
Rachel says: “We used Paris as a stop off on our honeymoon while we inter-railied to Italy, and then stopped again as our final location on our way home too. Was the perfect start and end to the most important holiday we’ve taken.”
Charlie says: “My other half took me to Paris as a surprise for my birthday. He’s usually rubbish at booking things so I was thrilled. However he’d booked a hotel which was “2 centimetres” on the map but 2 hours walk to anywhere in reality . I went out in heels one night and needed an osteopath when I got home . We did have an amazing few days.”
Jemma says: “Paris was one of the first places I visited with my now Husband. We’d only been together a few months, and aside from loving our time at the happiest place on earth (Disneyland), I found every side street, every little coffee shop, so romantic and welcoming, the trip remains a beautiful memory from the early days of our relationship.”
Frances says: “I went to Paris last year for my best friend’s 50th. We did nothing but walk, eat and drink wine. The sun shone so much we had to go shopping for new clothes and it was fabulous. I also went for a blogging conference in the November before that but I mainly spent it with a hangover then… ”
Emma says: “We went to Paris in the summer after our son saw the Eiffel tower on Go Jetters and waned to see it! It was great to see him so excited about travel and introducing him to a famous site and I can’t wait to plan more adventures inspired by the kids.”
