If you’ve been reading my blog over the past year, then you’ll be aware the every month I share an update on Tyler. The title has been consistent and so even though I feel like a giant knob saying 13 months, it sounds a damn sight better than “Tyler is 1 year and 1 month old.”
If you missed Tyler’s 12 month update, you can read it here.
February is the shortest month of the year but it feels as though it’s been and gone in minutes, which is crazy because January seemed to last 246 days. It doesn’t seem like five minutes since we were having Tyler’s very first birthday party and now that was over a month ago.
Teething is still hanging about, although we haven’t had any new teeth pop through. However we have had a couple of half sleepless nights. Mostly down to teething (I think) but last week we had a couple due to some viral bug that Tyler had managed to pick up. The poor soul had a fever and was inconsolable for what felt like hours. Thankfully, he seems to be back to his normal self now, let’s just hope that we don’t pick up any other germs!
I have exciting news in the walking department, Tyler took his first steps last week! They were heavy footed and a bit clumsy but he did it! Two little steps all by himself, I’m so proud of him! Over the weekend he took a couple more and yesterday he managed about four. You could tell he was pleased with himself as he chuckled the whole time, cutie alert.
Touch wood, Tyler’s reflux seems to have pretty much gone, hurrah! I actually can’t remember the last time that he was sick. I know it must have been in the last month, but to say that he used to throw up over 20 times a day, I’d say that’s amazing! If any of your little ones had reflux, I’d love to know at what age it completely stopped?
Towards the end of February, Jack, Tyler and I ventured down to Brighton to attend Violet’s first birthday party! It was lovely to see Lyndsay and for the bubas to see each other again, although I think Violet is getting pretty sick of Tyler constantly trying to poke her eyes out and put his fingers in her mouth, poor girl!
I’m pretty sure I said this last month but Tyler is honestly my best pal. He’s got attitude, he knows what he wants(or rather what he doesn’t want), he pulls the best faces(see the first photo!) and he is(almost) constantly smiling or laughing. Of course, he has his moments, I think the terrible twos have come early if I’m honest, but mostly, he’s an absolute gem and I feel so lucky to call myself his mummy! He has also finally stared dancing which means every morning we have a bit of a boogie together and his music taste is impeccable so far!
As each day passes, I am finding it easier to entertain Tyler. Whether that’s with toys, books or some Cbeebies. I can’t wait to be able to go outside more and go on little adventures with him. This horrible winter weather we’ve been having has totally scratched my spring plans of taking Tyler out to the Abbey grounds on his trike. Hopefully next month I’ll be able to share some photos of us outside enjoying the sunshine, keep your fingers crossed!
