Little Loves of July | Love, Maisie

July seems to have been and gone in a flash, it honestly seems like I wrote my little loves of June post just yesterday! Personally, it’s been a challenging month, but what I love about this linky is that I can talk about the lovely things that have happened instead of dwelling on the negative things. So here we go!

This month I finished reading Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig and I adored it. Every single page really touched me in so many ways and I just want to tell everyone I meet to read this book! Whether you’ve battled depression yourself, know someone who is or are just interested into a real human beings experience with bad mental health, then this is a must read for you. One of my work colleagues has kindly lent me The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern which I have just started reading. It’s something quite different to what I’d usually pick up but so far I’m really enjoying it. I am only a couple of chapters into The Night Circus but I already feel quite attached to a couple of the characters and I’m excited to see the story line develop further.

This month I thought I’d share a couple of blog post’s I’ve read too:

I’ve been boring this month and basically spent every day watching Love Island.. I’m kind of glad it’s come to an end as it started to get quite boring and repetitive, did anyone else think so? I started to feel this way mid way through July but I felt as though I had invested so much time into it already, I couldn’t give it up just towards the end could I! Jack and I have just started watching Queer Eye on Netflix and we are loving it. We’re four episodes in and I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy it all that much but it’s such a great watch!

I probably watch more YouTube videos than I do TV and this month I’ve been really into Carly Rowena’s vlogs. If you don’t know who Carly is, she’s a badass lifestyle/fitness vlogger/internet person who recently announced that her and her husband are expecting their first baby, yay! In Carly’s vlogs she talks openly and honestly about pregnancy and her changing body and I really admire and respect her for that, when so much of her online presence is about how she looks(sort of, as she is really into feeling the best you can rather than just looking but you know what I mean!).

I’ve honestly not been up to much creatively this month but I did make a couple of really tasty dinners, including a pizza following the recipe from Lucy Watson’s Feed Me Vegan Cookbook. The base is probably my favourite pizza base to date, including tasting better than any restaurant or store bought pizza base I’ve ever tried! A bold statement I know, but it’s true! I also dipped my toes back into the vlogging waters and uploaded a little vlog last week!

If you live anywhere in the northern hemisphere then chances are you’ve also experienced this mega heatwave we’ve been having here in the UK. It’s made getting dressed in the morning quite difficult to be honest. I’ve spent a lot of time in the house in my pj shorts and then opting for a strappy top and jean shorts for when I do need to leave the house as any more clothing would have made me melt into a sweaty puddle. The last couple of days have been slightly cooler so I have been reaching for my high waisted jeans, hallelujah!

THIS GIRL, along with her hips, thighs, mum bun, dirty mirror and naked face, CAN 💃🏻💪🏼 Here’s a #whatmamaworemonday snap! I LOVE this tee and wear it at least once a week at the moment! This time last year I was so open with talking about my mental health but for some reason I now feel super vulnerable to bring it back up into conversation online. July has been tough mentally but I’m determined to build myself back up again. In a bid to get on top of this chaotic life, this morning I picked up some cute stationary from Poundland(their new back to school range is gorgeous!) including a new 2018/19 planner! It’s baby pink and so of course I got some pastel highlighters to go with it! 💕 So right now, I have my positive pants on and I’m hoping they don’t decide to shrink or get lost any time soon. Happy Monday all 💖 #thisgirlcan #honestmotherhood #ootd #slogantee

So, “God is a Woman” by Arianna Grande is a TUNE, right?! I really didn’t like “The Light is Coming” so I was super happy to hear how amazing God is a Woman is! A song that I always come back to is “In Bloom” by Neck Deep, it’s one of those songs that I could literally play on repeat all day and never get bored of it. Other than that, music has pretty much been the same as last month.. I’m a creature of habbit what can I say!

and lastly

I just want to share these photos that I took of Tyler a couple of weeks ago whilst we were out on a walk. If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll probably already have seen them(or not, seeing as the Instagram algorithm is awful!). We’ve had a tough couple weeks with this little man, with a sickness bug and then the almighty start of “terrible twos” tantrums, day and night, it’s been testing to say the least. But just look at his wee face, isn’t he just beautiful?!
