LITTLE LOVES OF JUNE

Sunflowers Little Loves June www.lovemaisie.com

In a bid to banish the fog that I talked about in my last post, today I thought I’d join in with the Coffee Work Sleep Repeat link up titled Little Loves. The ideas is that you follow a few prompts and share the things that you have been loving throughout the month. I’m a little late in sharing this, due to said fog, but I’m excited to share with you my first little loves post.

Read

I’ve really gotten back into reading recently and my “to be read” (or as the cool kids say, TBR) pile is growing rapidly. In June I read IT* by Alexa Chung and fell in love with it. It is a bit of a coffee table book, but it was definitely worth the numb bum I endured for sitting on the sofa and not moving for a solid two hours doing so. The imagery was beautiful and I especially loved all of the doodle style illustrations throughout. I finished reading Sandi Tooksvig’s Hitler’s Canary early on in June and it was a novel that I didn’t really think I’d be able to get into but ended up loving. I’m also still in the process of reading Reasons To Stay Alive* by Matt Haig and really enjoying it so far.

Watched

I am ashamed to say that after bitching and moaning about it, I have been watching Love Island since about week 2 or 3. I initially watched the first episode of this series to see if I thought It’d be any better than previous years and decided that it still wasn’t for me, but since then I had been reading tweets upon tweets about everything that was going on in the villa and now find myself glued to the screen at 9pm every evening. I honestly don’t know how this has happened and yes I am slightly ashamed of myself, thisisanSOS,pleasesendhelp.. and biscuits to enjoy whilst watching said show.

Heard

I feel like I’ve been listening to quite a lot of music this month, but a notable mention will have to go to the one and only Don Broco, particularly the song “Pretty” from their latest album, it’s a banger and you should 100% give it a listen. I’ve also been listening to Paramore’s Riot! album a lot the last few weeks, it’s a real throwback album for me and takes me back to being 13(I think?) and really not having any worries or troubles in my life, ahhh bliss! ♥

Made

As if I didn’t have enough to do already, I made myself a new Instagram account, eek! It’s going to be documenting my health and fitness journey. I know there are already 5,678,324(not accurate) fitness accounts on the gram and I already have my “main” account, but I wanted a separate little space for me to be able to document my progress and talk to like minded people and so far, I’m really enjoying it. You can find my new account here.

Wore

As you probably know, I live in the UK and the last couple of weeks have been boiling. Most days the temperature is in the high 20’s and we’ve even seen some day’s at 30 and 31. This might not seem very hot if you’re from a country where these temperatures are the norm, but for us Brits, it’s a bit of a sticky situation. So I’ve been spending most of my time walking around the house in a vest top and short shorts(not flattering, but very comfy and cool) but when I do have to leave the house, I’ve been wearing my dresses like they’re going out of style. I don’t own very many dresses but I seldon get a chance to wear them, so everyday I’ve been picking a different one to wear and I am living for how free and liberating it feels! As much as I can’t wait for the temperatures to return to a somewhat normal base level, I will miss wearing little numbers like this:

and lastly

Another reference to my last blog post, but I just want to say thank you to every single person that chooses to still read this little blog of mine. I’ve had many a blip over the years but I’ve also been lucky enough to be able to document all the amazing highs too. So here’s to blogging, blogging the highs, the lows and everything in between. ♥

Until next time folks.
