Vaping is a practice of smoking nicotine using electronic cigarettes (also known as a personal vaporizer). An electronic cigarette works by nicotine-based liquid into vapour by heating, which is then inhaled. The good thing about the e-liquid technology is that it can contain other variety of nicotine-free flavours. The e-cigarette produces a faint smell of eliquid flavour. This means that it does not produce a strong smell like when smoking a normal cigarette.
The smell from an electronic cigarette fades away in just a few seconds. What does this mean for the smoker? Well, it simply means that they avoid smelly hands, clothes, and breathe of a traditional cigarette.
Electronic Cigarette Components
1. The Battery
Just like every electronic device, an electronic cigarette must have a power source. Batteries come in various sizes, shapes, and capacities. There are others that come with additional features to allow a more customized vaping experience. These batteries come with a button used to activate or switch ON the device. There are also batteries that come with an automatic switching ON device when one inhales.
Well, no matter the kind of battery you get, one thing is common to all; and that is they are rechargeable. These batteries are built into a case and they can be charged using a special USB cable, which is similar to a smartphone charger. Other batteries may need one to remove them from its case and charge them using a specialised external charger.
2. The Tank
The work of a tank is to hold the eliquid. These tanks are made from plastic, glass, and metal. At the same time, they vary in capacity, shape, and size. The tanks are refillable, which gives room to different liquids.
3. The Atomizer Coil
The atomizer coil is what heats the liquid. In other words, it is the heating element and its work is to heat the e-liquid and convert it into vapour. The atomizer coil is made from a metallic wire and a cotton wick; both enclosed in a metal case. The coil is enclosed at the base of the tank, which allows
the wick to absorb the liquid. When the user turns ON the battery, the coil will heat and turn the liquid in the cotton into vapour. If the e-cig is used frequently, the coil can last up to 2 weeks before it needs replacement.
It is easy to know or identify a coil that needs replacing through taste. The user will get a slightly burnt taste or a reduction of vapour production. The good news is that it is very easy to replace the coil and anyone can do it. To replace it, you have to remove the tank first and then unscrew the coil. It is advisable to let the coil sit for about 5 minutes after replacing. This allows the cotton to fully absorb the liquid to make it efficient. Soaking maximizes the flavour of the vapour as well as preventing the coil from burning out.
4. The Liquid
These liquids are also known as eliquid or ejuice. They are liquids that have been designed to function in an e-cig by turning into vapour when heated. An electronic liquid contains 3 main ingredients, which are; Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerine (VG), and Flavouring. The liquid does also contain nicotine. Vegetable Glycerine and Propylene Glycol are mainly used in processed foodstuffs. The additive element can either be artificial or organic and mainly used in food products.
What Is Needed To Get Started?
If you are new to vaping, then it is wise to start with our Beginner Starter Kit section. The kit has been specifically designed for those with little or no experience in using e-cig. This is because they are easy to master or use. The moment you have selected a starter kit, you must get some eliquids to put in your device, and this can be located in the eliquid section. The moment you have both of these, you can begin vaping at any moment.
While you are at it; it is wise to go through our Atomizer coil section guide. It is important to note that a coil usually has a lifespan of a maximum of 2 weeks. Well, of course, this will depend on your usage. Our starter kits come with an extra coil, but it is wise to consider purchasing more. There is a link to the coil that is compatible with a device you purchase in the product description. All you need to do is follow the link and you will get the right replacement for your starter kit.
In Australia, it is illegal to sell eliquid that contains nicotine. However, it is legal for a person to import nicotine products from another country for personal use as long as the supply does not exceed a 3-month supply.
If you must import nicotine to mix with our-nicotine eliquid; it is wise to familiarize yourself with nicotine handling safety procedures. It is important to note that a high concentration of nicotine (above 36mg/ml) can be dangerous to handle, especially if not done correctly. The good thing is that there is a lot of information online regarding nicotine mixing process, which makes things simple.
We advise purchasing 100mg/ml nicotine in 100% PG base. Even though 100mg/ml is very strong, it can make mixing much easier. This means that you can add a small amount of nicotine to any of the non-nicotine eliquid we sell.
For you to get an idea of the basics of mixing a 30ml bottle of liquid with 100mg/ml nicotine:
• 3mg add 0.9ml of Nicotine
• 6mg add 1.8ml of Nicotine
• 12mg add 3.6ml of Nicotine
The moment you have mixed everything, shake it very well for about 2 minutes. It is advisable not to vape the liquid for about 24 hours after mixing, which gives it time to steep well. Steeping is a process that allows everything to blend together. This process ensures that you get maximum flavour from the eliquid. The longer the liquid is left to steep, the better the flavour.
If you are not confident or sure about mixing; please contact us and we will answer any further question you may have.
