We’re going to change things up a little bit here on Love, Maisie today and I’m going to have one of my lovely friends Laura from Em&Me guest post and I’ll be guest posting over on her blog! You can read my take on this post over on Laura’s blog here.
Saying goodbye to summer is something I find so hard to do. I love the hot weather, the sun shining and everyone seeming to be in such good moods. I find it so much easier to leave the house when the sun is shining and the weather is warm. Motivation is at an all time high in summer and all I want is adventures.
With that in mind I have to look towards autumn and focus on the positives. I don’t want to wish away the time as I know how quickly babies grow up and now I have Emily I want to make the most of every moment. Today I thought I would share with you the three things I love most about autumn.
The first thing I love about autumn is the fashion. I love all the jumpers and sweatshirts in all the shops, the cosy leggings in Primark and wrapping up with my scarf. Jumpers are my favourite thing to wear so I’m pleased I can get them out of my wardrobe once more. Although I admit I enjoyed giving some of my summer clothes a trial run in the heatwave a few months ago. Autumn is also the perfect time to buy a new coat, something I will definitely be doing this year! I’ve had my autumn/winter coat for about 4 years now so I am well overdue a new one!
I love the colours of autumn. I’m fully embracing the mustard clothes this year which isn’t something I usually go for. When the leaves change they turn such a pretty colour too and it’s lovely for everything to have such warm tones. In my head I always imagine the light is so much nicer in autumn too. I think its all the early sunsets so you get the ‘golden hour’ much earlier on in the day.
COSY NIGHTS IN
When I think of autumn, I think of blankets, hot chocolate and snuggling up on the sofa to watch films. I think of board games, snacks and sitting with the heating on. I love nothing more than a cosy night in. These nights are very different now with a baby than they were pre-baby. Now I’m thinking freshly bathed babe in clean pjs snuggling under blankets – no hot drinks in case she lunges for them. But cosy all the same!
What three things do you love best about autumn?
