I am an avid photo taker. I take photos at every opportunity and I spend many an evening looking through old photographs, whether that be from last week or ten years ago. There’s just something so heart warming about flicking through past memories. I’m always on the look out for new and fun ways to share memories that we’ve made as a family and I think I’ve found the new best thing since sliced bread!
I recently discovered an app called TimeSpring. In case you’ve not heard about it before, it’s an app that allows you to share messages and photos with the people you love. It might sound as simple as that, but it’s so much more epic than a regular photo sharing app.
Once you create your TimeSpring account, you add your own profile before adding in your loved ones to your “wheel.” You can add anyone who has an email address and they will be sent a email request to join TimeSpring for free. As the app uses time released messaging, it means that you can also add the little people in your life and once they have an email address, the messages and photos that you have written for them will be sent to them on your date of choice. For example, I can write messages for Tyler for him to receive in say, 2028, by which point he will probably have an email account. As I have already made Tyler’s profile within my wheel, all I have to do is add his email address to it as soon as he has one. Pretty neat, huh!
Of course, I write this blog and use I social media on a daily basis, so you might wonder why an app like this appeals to me? Well, it’s because some moments that you live are so magical and personal that you want to keep them just between yourself and the person you made that memory with. I’m loving writing messages to Tyler along with photos of some of the lovely little things we’ve been up to over the last couple of months.
I’m actually planning on scheduling some messages for Jack for next year. We get married in March and I think it’ll be so lovely for him to receive some virtual love letters so to speak, on the weeks leading up to the wedding, what do you think?
I’ve talked a lot about appreciating the little moments in day to day life recently whilst documenting some of them in my happy moments blog posts and having an app like this is encouraging me to embrace these little moments even more as I know that Tyler will one day be able to look through all of these wonderful little things that we have done together as a family throughout his childhood.
I think this app would be a great addition to everyone’s phone, but especially those with children and those who might not be into crafty things such as scrap booking. Think of TimeSpring as the modern movement of magical technological scrap booking! TimeSpring is available to use and download for free from both the App Store and Google Store. You can send messages and photos to your sentimental hearts content and if you wish to send videos, you can do so on a one off for 99cents or you can buy a yearly subscription for just $29.99, which is pretty decent if you ask me!
Have you used TimeSpring before? Will you be downloading it now? I’d love to know your thoughts!
