Intention is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. Intention involves mental activities such as planning and forethought.”

It’s been quite some time since I shared any sort of goals or intentions post here on Love, Maisie. I’ve still been setting myself goals, targets and intentions behind the scenes, so whilst planning out my content for the coming months, I thought I’d bring back this style of blog post and make it a little series.

At the beginning of 2019, I shared a list of things that I wanted to do more of in 2019. In fairness, I have probably done more of most of the things on that list than I did last year, so that’s a start, but I find if I don’t break it down each month, then each week, I don’t get closer to my end goal or close to the amount I’d like to be achieving.

Earlier wake ups

I’d like to try and be up by 6.30am every morning this month. Eventually I’d like to make that time even earlier but I figured starting with a fairly normal wake up time would be a good idea. I struggle to wake up in the morning, but especially since having Tyler, if he’s asleep, I feel even less motivated to get out of bed, as I feel like I should be making the most of the time that I myself can stay in bed. However, if I was able to get up just that little bit earlier than him, I know that I’d feel so much more on top of my game and ready for the day ahead. I’ll report back and I’m sure Jack will be happy to take bets on this one.

Leafy greens, twice a day

Leafy green vegetables are packed with vitamins and minerals, including tonnes of iron. I can often feel quite sluggish and fatigued, and increasing iron in ones diet is something that our bodies can benefit from. Being vegan and a female, it’s super important for me to get in lots of iron from plant based sources, so this May, I intend to make a more conscious effort to pack in lots of both regular and leafy greens into my meals, at least twice a day.

Yup, I intend to do a lot of unfollowing this month. I’m going to take Marie Kondo’s advice and get rid of anything in my online space that doesn’t spark joy. I refuse to feel unkind by unfollowing someone whose content simply isn’t bringing anything to my life. I currently follow almost 600 people on Instagram. That is A LOT of content to digest on the daily and I 100% do not see all of it. I’d love to get my following count down to something like 100, so that I could actually keep up with what everyone was posting, but we will have to see how it goes, as I know that are so many accounts that really do spark joy for me for so many different reasons.

Daily journalling

At the start of the year, I made getting my bullet journal out everyday a habit, but somehow it’s just slipped away from me. Since being introduced to the world of bullet journalling, it’s really helped to keep my grounded, organised and generally on top of life. I’ve felt a little frantic the last couple of weeks if I’m honest and a lot of that is most definitely to do with the fact that I’ve not been getting my bujo out daily. So back to my little green journal I go!

I’ll check back in with you all here on my May intentions at the end of the month to see how I got on. What are your intentions for this month? Have you shared yours online too?
