Earlier in the month I shared some intentions for May, once of which was to incorporate more leafy greens into my diet. A super easy and tasty way to do this is to do so in a smoothie. The lovely Jasmin used to share posts like this and I enjoyed them, so I thought I’d try doing something similar here on Love, Maisie. Today I thought I’d share with you my go to spring smoothie recipe that is super simple and takes no longer than 5 minutes to throw together. It tastes super yummy and refreshing too, so it’s perfect for this time of year
For this smoothie you will need:
- 30g fresh baby spinach
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 banana (frozen or fresh, your preference)
- 100g frozen mixed berries
- 200ml water (or apple juice)
Super simple ingredients that the majority of us already have at home or easily have access to. I find this amount just right for a snack or breakfast but feel free to play around with the amounts until you’re happy! Your 30g of spinach is providing you with a load of vitamin K(essential for blood clotting, helping wounds to heal properly) and omega 3 from your chia seeds! If you use protein powder you could add that in there too! Just add a little extra water so that it doesn’t become too thick.
If you prefer a creamier smoothie then any milk alternative will work great in place of the water too. I prefer it made without the milk but I know someone like Jack would much prefer it made with milk.
What’s your favourite smoothie recipe? If you’ve got one then I’d love to try it out!
